A new Moon is always an opportunity to start afresh, to begin new projects and as it’s in Taurus it directs you towards money matters, eating healthily and taking note of the beauty of nature around you. Whilst walking on the beach this morning I was directed to share the symbolism of the Merlin, or what he means to me. We all know the TV show and have an idea of what he’s about from books and movies but he is simply the embodiment of practical magical mixed with earthly application of his gifts and his guidance. Watch for your signs, listen to your inner guidance, seek the counsel of your chart, oracle and tarot cards but don’t forget to turn up at court and have your say, your kingdom needs you. 

From April 14th Mars will at last move direct in the sign of Virgo. He’s spending a long time in this sign, asking many of us to check out what’s really going on, observe what’s truly being said and by whom. Now he really does put the pressure on. Trouble is Neptune is opposing him, throwing up a veil of mystery and perhaps causing some to hide their true feelings and intentions. Accept nothing is real until you test it, be sure before you repeat it and if you’re going to march under another’s banner be doubly sure they meet your standards.

The Mystical Qabalah isn’t easy to get information on, or is that true? Maybe there’s too much information and the real problem is in finding the end of the string, the starting point that will help lead you to the tree of life and the wonders it holds? Before you go looking however, maybe it’s a good idea to stop and think about what you want from such a journey? What are YOU looking for? No two journeys can ever be the same, they can be similar but never the same and the Qabalah recognises that, in fact it’s precisely how it works. By making it personal it fits your soul, feeds your spirit and intrigues your personality. Your first question is ‘what do I want from my spiritual journey?’ Trust your inner knowledge, but first you need to stop and listen to what it’s truly saying.

Tomorrow, December 10th, there will be a full Moon in Gemini, a total lunar eclipse. For those of you living on the pacific coast of the USA if you’re up around dawn you will see the Moon turn red. Imagine how frightened our ancestors must have felt when this happened? Is this a sign of doom and gloom? No. It’s a magnificent astronomical event as the Earth, the Sun and the Moon conspire to put on a show. Astrologically full Moons are about letting go, this one may have more force due to it’s eclipse status but what or who you let go of is up to you, be it great big things or little annoying nit-picky details that don’t truly matter. Slow down, take a deep breath, sit under that Moon and reconnect to your own magic, listen to your own heart, your own emotions and trust that you are the one who knows best.
